(INDIGO – INternationalisation and Development of Indicators towards better GOvernance within Guinean higher education)
Presentation
Launched in February 2020, the INDIGO project aimed to contribute to the modernisation of Guinean universities and support their structural transformation regarding governance and quality monitoring through the preparation and the development of strategic plans for higher education institutions. The project was coordinated by Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, in partnership with two other European universities, three Guinean universities, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and the National Quality Assurance Authority (ANAQ). 13 other Guinean and European partners were also associated with the project. INDIGO was a three-year project (November 2019-November 2022) co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
Specific goals
- Strengthening the role of universities in the definition of a political vision for the strategic development of their institutions with a view to generating a coherent project for their development, adapted to each institution through a consultation process involving all university stakeholders.
- Capacity building for directors and staff (academic and administrative) within public authorities and universities.
- Strengthening evaluation strategies and quality procedures within each institution by putting in place structured and transparent governing bodies, and by developing indicators for better governance that will contribute to increased visibility and internationalisation.
- Appropriation by Guinean regional universities of procedures put in place so that all key universities in the country can modernise in terms of governance and quality assurance.
